Junior Winter Hockey Comp 202011.6 MB Registrations are now open – Team Entry Close off is 31st March and Player entry close off is 30th April.
Those who are in charge of sporty log on will need to pop into the site and create their team name, please do this by the 31st March. Please also fill in the team form which is attached under the Schools Junior Competition notice. Player registration is required by the 30th April via the sporty site. Simply click on the link below then your school name to register. Please note that if you do not have enough players for a team we will happily sort those players into a team, so fill in the form above and let us know how many players you have per age group.
Please note there are some changes to the 2020 season
Year 7/8 competition will be Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, game times 4pm, 5pm and 6pm
Year 7/8 will play 6 aside half field for the first round, then play 11 aside.
Year 5/6 competition is now 6 aside plus a goalie.

Open day – Sunday 2nd May 2020, which is open to anyone who is keen to give it a go. This day will be a round of games between teams starting with kindy and funsticks working through the age groups. There will be food carts, coffee cart, BBQ and a great atmosphere so keep the date free as more information will follow.

We are running a skills clinic for our Year 5-10, on 7th April, which is run by Matt Hair from SPIRE Hockey Academy. Price is $45 per person. The main focus is upskilling our junior players with regards to the basic hockey skills, game understanding and set plays.

Quality Connection Course for Grandparents Acting As Parents118 KB Barnardos is pleased to advise we are running a free course specifically for grandparents acting as parents on Thursday 12 March. The course provides useful information and insight on the following topics:
Understanding Identity, Values and Beliefs Systems
Nurturing Attachments and Building Bonds Through Play
Understanding Brain Development and the Impacts of Stress
Positive versus Negative Attention and Communication
Social and Emotional Coaching and Calming Down
Structure and Routine
Natural and Logical Consequences
The friendly and practical course takes over one day (9.30 am to 2.30 pm). The venue is the Health Hub, 22 Queen St, Blenheim. The course is free of charge however participants will need to make their own childcare arrangements for the day. Morning tea is provided and there is a half-hour set aside for lunch.
Please find attached the LEAP referral which includes our acceptance criteria. It must be completed and returned to us to secure a place on the course.

More FM Marlborough's Future Farmer831 KB More FM and Harcourts Rural are running the Future Farmer event (formerly The Really Young Farmer) at this years Flaxbourne A&P Show, with Harcourts Rural on Sunday 22 March 2020 8:15am – 6:00pm
Entries are now open to all primary aged kids!
Five kids will be selected to take part in the event at the show. These rising farm stars will compete in a series of farm related activities including, tagging & tailing sheep (not real sheep), rabbit target shooting with a Nerf Gun (not real rabbits) , finding a ‘needle’ in the haystack (actually searching for Easter eggs), setting up a (non) electric fence - the squarest and the fastest and lastly, lassoing a bull (once again, not a real bull!).
They’ll be showing off their farming skills to take home their share of $400 cash, all thanks to the Harcourts Marlborough Rural Team.
