The Great Reading Carnival1.1 MB This year we have the awesome theme of ‘The great reading carnival!’
Parent /care-givers must visit the library in person to register their child/ren. Registration for the programme opens from Monday 9th December and the programme will run through until Friday 17th January.
Due to the popularity of the programme places are limited so we recommend parents get in quick!
The programme is for children 5-12 years old.
There will be rewards and prizes along the way and each child who finishes the programme will get to choose a book prize to keep and be awarded a certificate.
The programme is a great way for children to get excited about books and reading and to keep their reading practice up through the long summer holidays.
The programme runs to the same format as previous years:
·To complete the programme children need to visit the library 4 times to report-in
·The report-in will be a one to one conversation with a librarian about the book they have been reading
If parents have any questions they are welcome to call 5207491 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The Great Omaka Snake Escape1.86 MB The Great Omaka Snake Escape! It's the school holidays and we're shouting out to all young adventurers to come and help us with the Great Omaka Snake Escape! 70 years ago, a 14.4 foot Hudson bomber crashed deep into the Solomon Islands jungle. Our plane salvaging explorers have discovered the rusting wreck and it's now on display in the amazing revamped Dangerous Skies exhibition but they've disturbed a nest of plane swelling snakes who have made their slithery, scaly escape into the museum! Come follow the clues to find where these sneaky serpents are hiding so we can return them to their jungle home. All participating explorers will receive a reward as a snake finding fee!
Please remember to bring proof of residence (eg a utilities bill) to unlock your special entry price.
